Brookfield Videos June 2010 Posted

Various small video clips from the June 2010 event. Some passes and some bits and pieces I wanted to collect for a much larger video production being put together. Filming ceased after the first rain storm. I am currently busy working on the USA Mud Magazine so I have just posted all the bits and pieces here.

www.flight71racing.com

and then click on the "Media Gallery" link on the navigation bar.

Also posted on Scotts4x4.com in the Video Gallery 2010 section. This page has some small thumbnails generated with it to help you zero in on the action passes versus just the bits and pieces I was gathering.

Perry Hicks Interview Spring 2010 - Preview Video

Lots of the interview now online:

An interview with Perry Hicks - A Legend of Mud Racing across the country. I actually have multiple camera angles and a left some space around Perry so I could include photos and video in the final production while he was talking.
But currently all my free time is going to the USA Mud Racing Magazine publication so I have to wait. But I figured you all would enjoy the raw footage just as much.

Around 2 hours of the interview broken into 15 downloadable segments.
This is not even the entire interview. More coverage will be written up and in the June 2010 issue of USA Mud Racing.

Brookfield Thank You!

Thanks for the great turn out everyone! I know trying to do all styles in one day can be quite stressful for everyone. Not to mention a day when the weather went from perfect, to extremely hot, to perfect, to extremely hot, to perfect, and then to run for shelter heavy rain and lightning and then back to racing!

Big thanks to Bailey and all his friends and family for their efforts and battling it out with the elements of racing and weather yesterday.

I know races can be a headache for racers and fans....adjustments, delays, etc.....but it goes ten fold for the people putting on the race. Brookfield has a crew of people and volunteers and racers from all over that stand up and volunteer for that stress.

So hats off to all of them and come on back next time for some fun. (Even if you got hit by one of those lightning bolts!)

And hats off to all of you for coming out and supporting a great effort for a great event!

Brookfield Update/June 5th Event

From Bailey:

I want to thank all of my help, racers, and fans for coming and supporting the race. It takes so many people pulling together to pull these off and absolutly no way we could do it without all of you! At the end of last season I was so burnt out on mud racing I wanted out of the sport all together but it seems like theres always a few people that push me to keep it going.
I apoligize for the weather making it a mess for the last couple classes but we got through it and i guess that is the most important thing!

Just to clarify something because I know some people were asking, The light problem between 1st and 2nd place in pro street was not a light problem at all. There is a sequence in which you drop the lights on the tree and if you take off before we push the button it doesnt start the system therefore not catching redlights, now some of you may think you will use it to your advantage but if this becomes a problem we will have to start dropping the lights the instant the stage bulbs light up which means no time to stall out your truck or even time to get on a transbrake. I tried to handle it the fairest way I could by paying both trucks the first place money because at the time I hadnt figured out what was going on. We have only used these lights 5 or 6 times so we are still learning but are getting better with them everytime. I set the sensors in concrete and that seamed to really help, never had to adjust one all day!!
Thanks again, Bailey

talked to alot of you already- many like the concept- pay back more places- less classes- shorter show- good time!!! we are keeping points(which cost nothing) and will crown a champ in each class. hope to have 3-5 races this year. please come support this race and the major league of mud racing. I am really hoping to get a good following for these races get guys to travel together and get the fans involved more. i know i can no longer do the 10-15 hour shows anymore- its too much on me and the help and many volunteers to ask them to hang out for 10 houra in the heat and rain ect. the purse is set for each race $1000/$700/$500 for each class and the payback is just like tex posted above to 8 places. come check it out. rules are on here- tex can repost here though

Classes are basically the same as Outlaw Mud Super Stock, SuperMod, and Open. They've been re-worded in an effort to make them look familiar to some of the out-of-town folks we hope will participate, but they're basically the same classes you're used to already:

38.5” Super Street “Pit”

GENERAL

This class is intended for trucks and Jeeps that have been slightly modified for competition but still utilize mostly stock components. They must be capable of being made street legal. Engine and body swaps allowed.

BODY

1) Stock steel or OEM equivalent fiberglass body (minimal cutting allowed only for tire clearance)
2) Wheel base cannot be extended, must match body. Body swaps allowed.
3) Firewall can be reshaped minimally, but not cut and relocated
4) Must retain factory floor pan
5) Flatbeds must meet tech approval
6) Must retain stock glass (exception made for rollcage clearance)
7) Headlights and taillights may be removed, but MUST be covered.

8) Radiator must be located in front of motor
9) Transmission modifications and trans brakes allowed (must be shielded)

Next USA Mud Mag release date this month.

Next issue release date set for the end of June 2010.

Profiles: Major League Mud Racers

Don't forget about this. Taking the time to provide a little information about yourself could pay some great dividends to the quality of the sport. Difficult to get people to invest in the sport if we get a lack of participation on the basic level. And I know from talking to everyone there are a ton of you all that are excitied about this!

Tex is collecting profiles for the purposes of marketing....I am adding them online for all to check out. The Major League of Mud if free to join. Even if you are not sure if you can make it....you can contribute by answering Tex's questions and sending him a photo. (If you have a photo to share).

This all works to help show outside companies what Mud Racing has to show....so please participate....there is no downside to getting attention for yourself and the sport.

You can go to the scotts4x4.com web site and click on "Major League Mud" and then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on profiles. Or just click the link below.

http://www.scotts4x4.com/major_league_m ... page_1.htm

I know Tex is still collecting them and sending them to me. You can email him directly and he will forward it to me....or add my email address: scotts4x4@kc.rr.com

When Tex gets a chance....I will have him post his email address and the questions again for everyone below.

Thanks for participating!

Hamilton & Brookfield Mud Racing on Television

Two projects coming up this season with the goal of getting them on area television. The Hamilton, Missouri event in July and the collective Brookfield, Missouri Events at Bailey's place.

There is still a big IF factor as we are working on sponsors. And that is another reason to post it here. To see if by chance anyone would be interested in advertisement spots in return for your sponsorship.

If you don't have a video commercial, I can create something for you in return for your support for this project. Airing date would be in the fall. Sooner if support comes quick enough.

This project is going to take a lot of time for me to create and the help of a lot of other people. The goal is simply to break even on the cost of airing the program.

Gathering Legends in Mud

LEGENDS IN MUD

This is a growing collection of the history of our sport. Currently looking for racers that have been involved in the sport for over 20 years.

I am trying to put together profiles and stories on these racers. Stories for USA Mud Racing Magazine.

I am starting with the collection of materials that I have from Gary Baker. Many more names and images to be added to this collection. It may take a while to work all through this material and move on to other sources. So your input, information, people you would like to see added to this list, photos, videos, and contact info is much welcome. Email scott@scotts4x4.com

I already have contact with Greg Noonan and Tom Marsh.

Check out an update to Anna's Journals. Close to 1,000 pages of results that Anna Hicks documented back in the day. Some events dating as far back as 1982. Mainly Missouri.....even results from Arrowhead Stadium and Kemper Arena events. But also including places like Arizona and Kentucky from back in the day.

Important USA Mud Racing Magazine Note

I can't express enough the importance of getting renewed advertisers and renewed subscribers to support the continued success of USA Mud Racing Magazine.

Current subscribers, I have no doubt that I will find a way to continue through Volume 2 for four more issues. And they will continue to set a new standard. But at this point, I will have to recast the budget in order to make it happen.

If the sport is not strong enough to support the publication, I can completely understand. It has still been an incredible project.

But right now we are at a crossroads to forecast the direction of things.

This publication was created to support the sport, but also needs the support of the sport to continue!

USA MUD RACING MAGAZINE...SIGN UP NOW FOR VOLUME # 2!

I really need to encourage subscribers of the first four issues of the USA Mud Racing Magazine to sign back up ASAP for the next 4 issues.

I need to be able to forecast a budget to spread over the next 4 issues. So signing back up now effects the size of the issues.

New subscribers are certainly welcome as well!

And this includes Advertisers! If your 4 issue ad is expiring now, now is really a key time to sign back up!

Thanks for the support! Lots of new stuff in the works for this production!

PAY PAL NOW ACCEPTED

Due to a series of requests, subscriptions to USA Mud Racing can be made via Pay Pal. So just a couple clicks to get your subscription moving.....and/or a couple clicks to set up a Pay Pal account at http://www.paypal.com

As we move forward for the first time with this, there is a $2 processing fee that has to be added for this convenience. So if you use paypal, it needs to be $28.50 for 4 issues.

If you have an account, all you need to do is send payment to my email address of scotts4x4@kc.rr.com

But as you do this - please email me at scotts4x4@kc.rr.com and let me know you have started the process. I want to make sure everything is set up as smoothly as possible now that a third party is apart of the process.

Major League of Mud News

From Dusty:

trying to nail it down but i think the purse for all the major leagues races will be set like this
open-$1000
renegade(outlaw muds mod-supermod)- $700
SUPER STREET(OUTLAW MUD SUPERSTOCK) $500
LETS SAY $30 ENTRY FEE

LETS ALSO SAY 20 TRUCKS ENTERED-HERE IS A POSSIBLE PURSE BREAKDOWN FOR RENEGADE
1ST 350
2ND 210
3RD 140

NOW TAKE THE ENTRY FEES AND BREAK IT DOWN LIKE THIS- 25%/15/10 THEN 10/10/10/10/10
SO NOW IM GONNA PAY OUT LIKE 8 PLACES IN THIS CLASS
1ST 500
2ND 300
3RD 200
4TH-8TH $60

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE FUN! I REALLY HOPE TO GET 20 PER CLASS TO START THIS OFF TO MAKE THIS WORK GOOD AND ALSO TO KEEP IT UNDER THE 3-4 HOUR TIMEFRAME THAT MANY FAIRS DESPARATELY WANT. HOPE YOU GUYS COME OUT TO THE RACES WHEN WE GET THEM ALL PLANNED. ALSO HOPE TO HAVE A FEW TRUCKS FROM EACH CLASS ON DISPLAY IN THE TRACK AREA BEFORE THE SHOW FOR PIT PARTIES/MEET THE DRIVERS TYPE OF THING AND EVEN DO DRIVER INTROS FOR THE TRUCKS ON DISPLAY. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH TEX AND JASON ON THIS SERIES TRYING TO GET IF OFF THE GROUND. HELL WE MIGHT EVEN TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER AND EXPAND INTO HILL-N HOLE SOMEDAY. BUT FOR NOW THIS IS THE MIND SET OF THE MAJOR LEAGUE OF MUD RACING. LOOKING TO CROWN A BOG SERIES CHAMPION THIS YEAR- ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SHOW UP AND ENTER AND RACE AND EARN POINTS WHICH TEX WILL TRACK AND POST HERE FOR ALL TO SEE. LOOKS LIKE 3-5 SHOWS THIS FIRST YEAR. I HOPE YOU GUYS AND GALS WILL TRY IT. I LOVE THE ALL NIGHTERS- BUT I WILL ALSO LOVE THESE HARD HITTING SHORTER SHOWS. WITH THE SMALLER SCALE SHOW I CAN MAKE IT MORE ABOUT THE RACERS AND THE TRUCKS AND DEVELOP A FAN BASE FOR EACH ONE AND THE SPORT.

Major League of Mud News

From Scott: Major League of Mud thoughts!

Lots of great opportunities can come out of the Major League of Mud Racing.

Nothing is going to be perfect. There is always going to be a rule someone does not like. A location someone might not want to travel too. The event dates, especially as things get started, may not be able to layout all at one time. But there will be a lot of benefits to pushing through the little stuff and looking at the bigger picture. And it is free to join the League. No downside to that.

Dusty has been telling me about the concept for quite a long time. It may be a little different of series than what everyone is use too, but each idea really meets the need for an opportunity to take the sport to new levels. A chance for safer shows, safer courses, bigger payouts, more sponsors. Opportunities that can only exist with everyones support to push it foward. And there are already a lot of people working together to make this happen. I know Tex has invested a lot of time as well.

With support, I really think the Major League of Mud can grow into something great. Great for the racers who want to participate and make the sport better and better. Create more opportunties for the Major League of Mud and even more importantly, more opportunities for racers themselves individually.

Just like the USA Mud Racing Magazine.....in the end it is all about you racers and fans and it only exists through your support. And you have the power to make something really great!

Major League of Mud News

From Dusty: Event locations for Major League of Mud:

into oklahoma were talking about dday or miami,ok kansas badlands is the furthest west the rest will be close to kc and the 1 or two in east mo- closer to mid missouri most likley. this will be a good thing. a high impact shorter show with a good purse and following.

we hope to grow this into a bigger series next year. right now working on some more dates and a few heavy hitter sponsors. wont it be cool to be the champ!!

Event Listings at www.scotts4x4.com/forum

Scotts4x4 is also the official home of Outlaw Mud/XMRO/Major League of Mud dates and information. As a courtesy to those that are supporting the service, I need to display the events in an easy to find spot so they can see there event info without searching for it. So you might find that Outlaw Events, Inc. related events are getting displayed at the top of the board. It is a necessary move since I consolidated all the Outlaw Mud/XMRO/Major League of Mud sites into one place and one message board at Scotts4x4.

Please continue to list your events on the message board and promote them. Even if they conflict with Outlaw Mud/XMRO/Major League of Mud Event dates, you are still welcome. And no matter where your events are at in the country. Or in North America. (The more listings, the more leads for stories for the USA Mud Racing Magazine I get).

Check out www.outlawmud.com for rules.

I talked to Ed this week and everything is lining up for September! The rain out date has been verified for October 2, 2010.

I talked to the Kearney folks earlier in the week. They were telling me that this year marks the 60th Anniversary for the Lions Club in Kearney, Missouri. And that Mud Race has really meant a lot to them and the community. They are even looking into making a 60th Anniversary pin with a Mud Truck symbol.

I will post more information about this years upcoming event as it becomes available.

Brookfield Cup Update

I am working with Bailey on updating some information for the upcoming events. We are still waiting to see how the schedule continues to come together before we pick the remaining Brookfield Cup dates. I would not expect anything until at least May, if May at that.

Information is being posted on www.flight71racing.com and they will be Outlaw Mud and XMRO rules. More updates as they arrive.

For the latest USA Mud Racing News, advertising and subscription information, shipping info, or to report a lost issue in the mail....visit www.scotts4x4.com and click on the USA Mud Racing Magazine link on the Navigation Bar. This will take you to the info page. And if you are missing an issue, there is an image you can click on at the bottom of the page to send an email out to report which issue you are missing.

At The Crossroads

The next issue of the USA Mud Magazine is going to be the biggest issue yet with over 50 pages. And I am well into the 5th issue production and there are going to be even more new features in it I think everyone in the sport will really like and will take the magazine to yet another new level.

This next issue being released over the next couple of weeks is also a pivotal issue being the 4th issue. Many subscribers and advertisers have been with me since the beginning. Not only do I need renewed support, but I need new support to make this worthwhile for everyone.

If you are missing an issue, send me an email at
scotts4x4@kc.rr.com
so I can better track who needs what. So please send an email. Also keep in mind, I discovered some people that felt they were missing issues that were not. When you subscribe, you get the most current issue and the next 3 after it. Unless you tell me you are wanting the back issues, you subscribe to the latest issue now and going forward. And we are also experimenting with a different shipping method to get them to you faster, which also involves more expenses.

Email me for more info or go to
www.usamudracing.com
and click on the USA Mud Racing link in the navigation bar.

I have put a lot of time and effort in many Mud Racing projects over the years. This is one of those projects that takes a lot of time to put together. The goal was to put together a quality production and that is a success. And it keeps getting better. I know times are tough, but this production really needs to be able to support itself for long term survival. And I can only do that through subscriptions and advertisers.

If you are one of many people that have told me you have been meaning to subscribe, now would be an extremely good time to sign up.

Lack of support right now will tell me to stop taking subscriptions, fill current subscriptions orders with great new issues, and then shut it down.

Lots of support right now will tell me to keep making time for this production and keep finding ways to expand it.

Your assistance is very much needed!

It Happens!

I was talking to Tom Marsh (long time racer on the national circuit) for an article I am working on for the next issue of USA Mud Racing. I am doing a Legends of Mud Article and he recalled having some of his biggest racing adventures just getting to and from the race track! He had a great idea to start a column for the magazine called "IT HAPPENS, adventures traveling to the races." And to have people contact me and tell me about some adventures....or perhaps ordeals.

I think it sounds like a great idea. I know I have had many Monday morning email conversations and/or read posts with some of you telling some crazy stories about the weekend. So lets talk! Email

USA MUD RACING MAGAZINE: ISSUE # 4 SHIPPING OUT

Note to all subscribers - most of the issues are not in the mail yet. The special orders and orders with back issues due went out via me this week. Dusty just now has everyone else's copies to mail out ASAP. So don't be surprised if you have not gotten your copy yet.

These magazines are getting more and more attention from potential sponsors that can support anyone and everyone in the sport. I am trying to demonstrate in a print medium that we are collectively, professionally, and safely having a great time in this sport across the country and this sport should be getting more attention and support!

Contact me about an event, a group, and/or a person making a difference in the sport. I want to put together gather leads and information for articles for the print magazine….USA Mud Racing. You are also welcome to contribute writing to this magazine. Contact me today at scott@scotts4x4.com and get involved!

New Event Listings Page at Scott4x4.com

Modified the universal events page so that it would help with the USA Mud Racing Magazine effort. At the same time, I wanted something not too overwhelming for the local users to make use of. So check out the new link below. You can also go down to the events section and click on the "Event Listings" in the "Events" section and it will take you to the same place. Depending on how full the section gets, more modifications will be made in the future.

http://scotts4x4.com/events.php

It is an interactive listing. If you click the names on top of the column, events will be sorted. Click on "Event Date" and everything will list in chronological order. Click on "State" and all states will be listed in alphabetical order. So you can zoom into the parts of the country that interest you. Others categories sort accordingly as well.

If you click the circle next to an entry and hit view, it calls up all the info for that particular event.

Submit events to scott@scotts4x4.com for listing. Note that all dates sent in are subject to publishing in USA Mud Racing Magazine. So please keep me informed of any changes as the season progresses. Users....whether in print or on the internet, you need to contact those holding the events as they are responsible of any changes or cancellations.Scott4x4.com is not liable for event changes made by any organization.

Various Video Clips Online

While I have been working on some projects over the last few weeks, I had been sitting aside little video clips I came across that I have created or collected from others over the years. Got everything from some classics to some more recent clips from Redeye Dad.

You can find the Video Clips link at the top of the Video Page at www.scotts4x4.com or just click the link below.

Kearney, Missouri 2009 Pics

Couple of sample pics from Eric - follow the link - http://scotts4x4.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11382

I know he got quite a few pics at Kearney in 2009. It is not too late to get a copy of pics he might have gotten of you and video from Monte. A combo deal. Contact them and check out the pics at:

Hamilton Videos

Check out some Hamilton, Missouri Videos in preparation for the 2010 event on July 9th and 10th. Variation of the same video.

Outlaw MudJuly 9th &10th Hamilton,Mo bog-fast track- sxs

I have been working with Hamilton staff all week on some various projects. Might just have a preview video production to share with you all this weekend on top of everything else. The Northwest Missouri Steam and Gas Association are the ones that bring us to town each year and they do everything they can to make the show as great as possible!

Since Outlaw Mud has worked with the facility over the last two years, they have supported Mud Racing by building one of the best racing facilities in the nation! Yes...the Nation! It is a track that caters to the sport of Mud Racing and it just gets better each year!

This is a non-profit organization that is using all the funds generated to put right back into building the fairgrounds/racing facility into a bigger and bigger facility to support more activities for the community.

So mark your calendars to come out and support those who are supporting you and the sport!

Video Update: Brookfield

Trying to put all the Brookfield related videos in one spot. These are actually more clip based/smaller random files. Most of the clips so far are thanks to Redeye Dad. More will be coming. You can visit www.flight71racing.com and the go to media, then video, then video clips. Or just click the link below.

http://www.flight71racing.com/media_gallery/video_clips.htm

Photo Update: Brookfield

Trying to put all the Brookfield content in one place. You can check out about 15,000 various Brookfield event photos at www.flight71racing.com and go to the media gallery and then the photo gallery. Or just click the link below.

http://www.flight71racing.com/media_gallery/photo_gallery.htm

Streamling of some Sites

I have been working on some content over the last few weeks and it dawned on me just how much I am sending everyone to different sites and different places and different messageboards for updates. I know it can be a hassle for visitors, as I sometimes have a difficult time findings files and photos and videos....and I am the one placing them where they are at.

So I have some streamlining in process as I have plenty of space for plenty of things right here at http://www.scotts4x4.com

You may notice that http://www.usamudracing.com and http://www.majorleaguemudracing.com now lead back to Scotts4x4.com - just like http://www.outlawmud.com and http://www.xmro.net will take you to http://www.scotts4x4.com now. I have more space and capacity than ever at scotts4x4.com and so I might as well find a way to put as much content as I can in one spot for everyone.

Just a heads up - I will be changing the layout, particularly over the weekend, to make the items you are searching for easier to find. So there is a little construction going on but it should be getting better. Better for you to find things. And better for me to remember where I put things.

USA Mud Racing: Story of Racing Generations

I have already ran across some of you, like the youth mud racers who have parents that race. But I am also looking for families of mud racers with multiple generations that race or raced. Maybe your uncle raced, or your dad raced, or your grandpa raced.....and now you race. Or all of you still race. Looking for people to interview for an article in USA Mud. Email scotts4x4@kc.rr.com

USA Mud Racing Story: Best of Both Worlds: Bog and Fast Track

Looking for some racers to interview that take your ride in both the pit and the fast track. It's okay if they are two seperate rides, but also looking for those that don't mind having a run at both styles. Working on more articles for USA Mud Racing. Email scotts4x4@kc.rr.com will info!

Subscribers to USA Mud Racing

And the magazine is also at a crossroads. It has really grown with a very positive response and has a lot of potential for more. At the same time, the 4th issue is coming up which means it is time to renew and see how many people renew. (But you can start a subscription at anytime and get 4 issues after that point in time).

So I need everyones help to push forward and support it so that we can continue to support it! It is a big expense and a HUGE time consumer. And I really need for this endeavor to continue paying for itself so that it can continue! Thanks to all those who have supported it!

USA Mud Racing: Midwest Mud Stories

Got an excellent story from Mike Williams and the Midwest Boggers coming together for this next issue of the magazine. Now is your chance Midwest Organizations to speak up and lets get a piece together.

Something about the past, something about the present, something about the future....and everything else and in between.

Don't want to give the impression to the National subscribers that Mike is the only one that has racing to talk about in the Midwest! Let's get a collection going from the Midwest!

Contact me and lets get something going: scotts4x4@kc.rr.com

Photographers for USA Mud Magazine

On the USA Mud Magazine front I am always calling for writing, but I need to give a shout out for photos as well. I know we all have some good photos from events floating around. I can always interview and write about things going around all over the country, but I still need photos as well. And maybe even sometimes the photos can come first and then a story idea may follow behind it. I guess what I am saying, drop me some photos for consideration to be published in the magazine. You might end up supplementing a story, cause a story to be created, or might just end up on the front cover.

USA Mud Story: Youth of Mud Racing

Do any of you have kids that are getting into the sport? I am putting together a story on the youth of mud racing. One day the sport may shift in new directions that only the young kids may think of. I would like to have a chance to talk to the future of the sport, the future legends of mud, for an article I am putting together. Parents contact me if you have someone under 18 who likes to race. Racers 21 years of age or less is the age group for the article I am putting together - a piece on the youth in mud racing. Contact scott@scotts4x4.com

WORLD MUD NEWSWIRE
Submit news and information from the sport of Mud Racing and related sports. Provide contact details and/or leads so we can investigate for articles to be published in the USA Mud Racing Magazine.

USA MUD RACING: LEGENDS OF MUD: MUD RACING HALL OF FAME

I am moving the Legends of Mud: Mud Racing Hall of Fame section to USA Mud Racing. We have been celebrating the legends since the first issue of the USA Mud Racing Magazine. And I have made contact with a lot of racers from across the country for future projects. But the new site seems the best places to keep the information flowing at www.usamudracing.com/Forum

LEGENDS OF MUD: MUD RACING HALL OF FAME
Submit nominations & suggestions for the Legends of Mud. Those who have been in the sport at least a decade or over a decade ago. Inductee's are included in issue of the USA Mud Racing Magazine. Online features in the works.

USA MUD FORUM: EVENTS ACROSS THE USA & MORE

We have a lot of events dates that show up on this message board, but I also know a lot are tentative. A lot of ideas are thrown out to chat about. I also know the large amount of midwest viewers we have are looking for midwest event dates on this board. So that is perfect.

But to help support the USA Mud Racing Magazine with approved dates to publish in print and to get a wide variety of events dates from everywhere.....I have created a new section at www.usamudracing.com/Forum - It allows me to collect events dates for a master schedule that I have in the USA Mud Racing Magazine publication. And also list them online for all too see.

EVENTS ACROSS THE USA & MORE
List your events from around the world here. Please include event towns, contact information, and date of events. By posting your event dates here......you are aware that they will also be copies from here and published in the USA Mud Racing Magazine. So keep event changes posted as at any time your posts may be published in print.

USA Mud Forum Online

The new USA Mud Forum is online. Check out www.usamudracing.com/Forum and sign up.

This use to be a testing board but I decided to modify it and make use of it in support of the USA Mud Racing Magazine. Also makes a good backup board in case this one goes down in the middle of a busy racing season.

It will make a great resource for a variety of topics for racing around the globe. Which will also serve to help supplement the growing USA Mud Racing Magazine. So more than just another place to talk racing.....it is more about a online resource for people to report news, event information across the globe, subscriber resource, article leads, Legends of Mud nominations, and more.

Check in out....become a part of it....and enjoy using it!

Stock and Stock Mod Racers

Extending till End of January - Stock racers - A great chance to get recognition.

Here is a chance to recognize some of the top stock and pro stock racers in the sport.

Putting together a top 10 stock and top 10 "all other stock/stock mod" collection for just one of the article in the next USA Mud Mag.

Requirements for nomination....1 - stock driver/racer, 2 - got behind the wheel in 2009, 3 - worthy of recognition because you say so.

One person may be nominated because of there reputation as a competitive driver.....while another may be nominated just because they are always fun to hang out with at the races and/or have been their for you.

I will leave the nomination open till the end of this month. If I get more than 10, I will toss names in a hat and have someone draw the names out.

I do request that you submit the name to me via my email and not post here. Although you can nominate yourself, I would like for it to be a surprise for some.

So please - drop me an email at scott@scotts4x4.com - tell me about the person - and include as much contact info for me to reach them as you can!

Send photos of them if you have them too!

Thanks!
scott@scotts4x4.com

Article Interviews

I still have a lot of phone interviews to take care of. I have talked to quite a few of you on the message board in the last month and did not get a chance to respond to everyone individually. Got a lot of messages with numbers to call. I appreciate it and wanted to let you all know I got your name and number on my list and will be giving a lot of you a call in 2010.

State Reps for Magazine

Still working on setting up a network of information providers from around the country. I figure a good system would be to find a least one person in each state that feels that have an idea of what is going on all over their state or even the nearby states. Let me know about stories of interests, events, and things of interest in the mud racing world. If you are interested in more info, drop me a message at scott@scotts4x4.com

Blog Update/Subscribe

Got some more Blog updates coming soon. Don't forget that you can subscribe to the blog and you should receive updates/posts directly in your email.

Brookfield Cup 2010

Going through some schedule items to post. Just a heads up that I am not sure exactly when Dusty and Derek will pick the 3 events dates for 2010. (Not counting the Battle of Brookfield IV). I know the plan is the first Saturday of the month, but the months assigned will be posted later as Dusty needs to take a look at some of the other events he is taking on to try and avoid conflicting with Derek like we had to do last year once. I just don't want someone to pick a first Saturday of the month in the future in January and then be upset come April if we end up in a date conflict with anyone.

Come on out in 2010 and join us in Brookfield! More info in the works.

New Site Boards

Previewing a couple of new message boards. Nothing activated yet, but soon they will be open for signing up. These are actually just a couple of practice forums I created for testing mods and updates. But I decided to go ahead and make them public.

The Major League Mud Racing board will be a good backup to have online in case this board here ever goes down. And if it is in the middle of racing season, I may not be able to get this board back up and running quickly. So it will be good for everyone to check out the Major League Board for updates. There are some other features that will also be installed to make the Major League board unique - Dusty has some ideas and I am going to take it in whatever direction he would like.

http://www.majorleaguemudracing.com/Forum/

The USA Mud Racing board will be based more on incoming news and information the supplement the magazine.

Mud Mags in the Mail

Talked to Dusty and they should be arriving in subscribers mail boxes shortly after the New Year. If you don’t get your copy by the 15th, give Dusty a shout at 816-935-5794 or drop him a message on the board. I experimented with a new format this time, that now that I see the final product, is a step in a great direction. So don’t be surprised if it looks a little different.

Photo Gallery Update

Got some new ones added in reference to what was added last time below"

Organizing some photos I have taken and gathered over the years and reorganized them into one archive gallery. Need to make some room and organization in preparation for the next decade. Check out the link below as about 50,000 plus old photos in the new gallery have already come back online.

http://www.scotts4x4.com/photo_gallery/photo_gallery.htm

Schedule Page 2010

Schedule page is online. Got a few of our related events to get it started. It is a version of the old style I use to do. Drop me an email if you have an event to submit at scott@scotts4x4.com

I had not used my old format in quite a while as it can be very time consuming and then people can get quite upset if something changes or rained out and I do not get it updated in time. So remember, as always, for people that use it....dates are subject to change, contact the event organizers for more information.

When you submit - be sure to include event date, town, and contact information. Note - events are subject to be published in the USA Mud Mag as well - so be sure and let me know if anything changes. You can click the link below or on the web site at www.scotts4x4.com or select the link at the top of the default message board page that says "schedule."

http://www.scotts4x4.com/schedule/schedule.htm

Contact for Presentations

I have been upgrading a presentation for Dusty for Outlaw Mud and associated events. I checked the calendar for 2010 and noticed that there are only so many weekends next year (Never enough of those). So be sure and contact us about setting up events. We would be glad to come and personally chat with everyone and share our presentation! Email scott@scotts4x4.com or give Dusty a call at 816-935-5794.

Avatars on the Forum: Avatar Selection

Lethal said you can turn off the avatar option for viewing in your personal control panel. This will come in useful as during the migration, if someone has not altered there image, you can go into your own personal control panel and turn off the avatar option for yourself so you can read the post.

Go to "User control panel" then "board preferences" then "edit display options" and then click no to "display avatars."

Avatars on the Forum - Update

As we migrate to a different style format, I have discovered I cannot adjust avatars for anyone if I don't have the avatars active on the board. And if I have them active, them the oversized one are going to overlap. I knew it would be a ruff transition, but it will get better.

I you spot your overapping, you can save it from the site and alter it to 200 x 200 or less, and then reload. Or simply delete the one you have. Or ask me to go in and fix it for you. Just contact me with your username so I can adjust. PM on the board or email scott@scotts4x4.com

There will still be some images floating around in the text tell we get them all adjusted. If someone is trying to read something and contacts me, let me know which user you are trying to read a post from and I will try and go in an alter.

May be a slow process over the weeks ahead to migrate.

Avatars on the Forum

Avatars - the photos next to your name - and not the movie with the giant smurfs.....

Working on upgrading to a new style message board which unfortunately does not like the oversized images some of us have. The pictures would overlap the text. Many styles of message boards I have tinkered with in the past has not been favorable to oversized images....so it is probably best that if you have an oversized image (anything above 200 x 200) that we downsize it so we can upgrade to some of the latest formats. Some of you will be fine and need to do nothing if you are already 100 x 100.

The oversize images would literally overlap your text on the new message board, so I went ahead and turned off that feature. If everyone can gather up new images (or send me your image and a username) and I will be glad to make the adjustment for you.

So please gather them up with or without my help (if you even want one) over the next week and then I will turn the Avatars back on and everyone can start switching them out or have me help.

Wanted to start a new thread at this one is at the latter end of the Arena thread and wanted to make sure everyone catches this event.

As his schedule permits, Dusty will be doing some jobs for Checkered Flag Productions this year - particular some indoor events over the winter months.

Of course these are in conjunction with other motorsports, so classes per venue will be limited.

Here is the general topic with more information:

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=11103

And as information arrives for this and any other event, we will get it posted here.

On Line Video Archive

I have been experimenting with some different video playback options. You can check out some video circa 1980's from Perry below. They are large files, so users will experience different download times. If the video studders, you might want to pause the video and let it partially or completely download before playback. But you should have to select play to get the videos to start downloading and playing. Otherwise let me know any issues with the format so I can determine the benefits/downsides to using it in the future. Check them out and enjoy some classic footage!

Scotts4x4 Message Board Upgrade Coming Soon!

Might have some gong on today or later this week before they are complete. If the board goes down for a bit, don't be surprised and come back later as it should be back up and running. Just behind the scenes stuff but the board might be down and come back with a gltich or two. If you have any issues, let me know! scott@scotts4x4.com

Thanks,
Scott

Contact for Events

I have been upgrading a presentation for Dusty for Outlaw Mud and associated events. I checked the calendar for 2010 and noticed that there are only so many weekends next year  (Never enough of those). So be sure and contact us about setting up events. We would be glad to come and personally chat with everyone and share our presentation! Email scott@scotts4x4.com or give Dusty a call at 816-935-5794.

Mud Central Update

Still working on the web site hub I call Mud Racing Central - the combined sites of USA mudracing, XMRO, and Outlaw Mud.

Tried to streamline the links on the main Outlaw/USA Mud Racing page below:

http://www.usamudracing.com/

Also a couple of videos in a rather new format I have been exploring. Let me know if you have any issues. Number of issues will help me determine if I will keep using the format versus the number of gltiches everyone starts to have. The page with a couple new videos below:

http://www.usamudracing.com/outlawmud/outlaw_mud.htm

Major League Mud Racing

Just a new site I have been developing as Dusty le's me know what he wants to do with it and the Major League of Mud. It will probably be tied to certain Outlaw Mud shows and some Arena Mud portion of a show. Dusty will answer those questions better as I just wanted to get a foundation in place. Not much on it yet, but you can bookmark it as a site to visit.

Scott's Video and Photo Archive

I am adding video to Scott's Photo and Video Archive section in the "Media Forum." I have been backing up my files from over the years and dropping old racing photos and video into a special file. Decided while I was backing them up, no reason not to randomly scroop some up and post. And this first collection turned out to be a large collection of video. I think it took 2 days for the PC to upload all of it and there are over 900 video files. And some files are very large. Links and previews to follow soon. A lot of contributed stuff mixed in as well!

Putting them all in one section:

http://www.scotts4x4.com/the_video_archive.htm

Here are some sample preview videos from some of the sections.

Follow the message board link and check them out.

Kearney Sept 26, 2009 Reminders

Registration is from 11-1:30 - Starts at 3pm!

This is a non-profit event for the Lions Club of Kearney!

The Lions Club have invested more and more each year to improving the quality of the grounds and making it an authentic racing facility. Putting funds back into the grounds. Dusty and I have been working with Ed all year long and I think you are going to notice the improvements! So come out and support the Lions Club investments.....in Mud Racing and Mud Racers.....they are supporting the sport......and giving us a wonderful place to race.....please support them so that they can continue to support the sport!

They are making a very limited number of T-shirts to sell for this event! Don't wait to get yours when you come to the show. I know Monte Cushman and Tammy Williams spent a lot of time on the design of these shirts and they will be one of a kind and a very limted number!

Eric and Monte (ESI Photograghy) are planning on taking photos and videos to cover the event! These high quality photos and videos will be for sale. And there prices are very reasonable for the time and effort they put into very professional products. Support them so that they can continue to afford to do this! The professionals have skills and professional equipment!

My Kearney film crew kids will be covering event this year too - but for more fun on the web sharing and they won't be for sale - so we are going to really have a media blitz on this one! Come out and get in the coverage!

Come on out and have a great time with us!

Kansas Badlands - August 22, 2009 - South Haven, Kansas

This should be a great show to see and participate in. Jason will have all the elements of his regular show plus some rides you don't normally get to see in this area. This is one you don't want to miss!

Update from Jason on the August 25 show at the Kansas Badlands in South Haven, Kansas on August 22, 2009

here's the skinny single lane bog pit and dual lane fast track event
the bog pit is sanctioned by the central mud boggers association, www.cmba.homestead.com and there shouldn't be any problems finding a class with them for any truck or rail wanting to run. the pit will be the west lane that we have been using, we are going to smooth out the bottom again and repack it so that it isn't a rough pit and put fresh dirt back in it to make some virgin mud. the bog pit portion will start at 1:00 pm. we will start the mra portion at 5pm (we will finish out the class that we are in with the cmba before we start the mra if need be)

if there are cmba classes left to run we might run one through while we are grooming the lanes or we might wait till the end. depending on how things go.

the goal of this race is to showcase the fastest trucks in the country and region to the fans

the mra will be running the following classes

pro stock
outlaw pro stock
modified cuts
open cuts
open paddles

we are expecting a large turnout all the way around, the way that i see it, if you are curious about us here at the kbl and curious about the mra, you can kill 2 birds with one stone and make the trip over to check it all out. this year we have added a professional sound system, additional lighting, dual lane scoreboards and lots of little things. we have invested a lot of time and money into our facility and hope that you guys all come check it out.

Countdown to Sturgis 09!

Everything is a go for what should be one of the biggest venues the sport has ever scene! Come on out and enjoy the bikes.....and the MUD! Thanks to Jimmy and the South Dakota Mud Racers - we will seem him August 4th and 5th with the XMRO Xtreme Class added!

Outlaw Mud Brookfield Bog

Bailey Morton announces a Bog August 15, 2009 at the Brookfield Track - Nice chance to test out the pit before the Battle of Brookfield in September:

You all asked for it so here it is!!! The first Bog pit at the new track in Brookfield. We will be using OUTLAW MUD rules. If this goes over good look to see many more here next year!!!!

Battle of Brookfield set for September 5, 2009

Mark your calendars - Dusty announced the Battle of Brookfield for September 5, 2009

THE BATTLE OF BROOKFIELD 3 WILL GO DOWN SEPT 5 AT MR MORTONS HOUSE OF MUD IN BROOKFIELD(THE SIDE BY SIDE TRACK) WE WILL BE USING ONE SINGLE LANE FAST TRACK AND THE BOG, AND POSSIBLY DOING TWO CLASSES OF FAST TRACK ELIMINATION DEPENDING ON IF WE GET THE NEW LANE INSTALLED. BE THERE FOR THE 3RD INSTALLMENT OF THIS RACE WHICH ALWAYS HAS A GOOD TURNOUT OF RACERS AND SPECTATORS..

Message Board Chat Room Back On-Line

The Chat Room is back! Thanks to Jamie - Lethal Injection for making it come together, getting installed, and making it work. It is a little different than the last version. I thought my last modifications should not have damaged the chat room - but it looks like the upgrade I did and the old Chat Room just don't want to co-exist. Jamie found a new way to make it work. So please take advantage and use the chat feature!

But I don't think the new format lists how many people are in the gallery or who. So you will just need to log on and see. Lost a nice little feature but doing what we can to make two things work together.

USA Mud Racing Magazine Issue # 2

Everyone sign up now and you can still get a copy starting with the second issue. I think it came together nicely. We are really at a crossroads with this. I would like to expand it but need more subscribers and advertisers to support it.

http://www.usamudracing.com for more information and click on the USA Mud Racing Magazine link.

Subscribers - issue # 2 should be arriving in your mailboxes by next week at the latest. If you have not gotten yours by then, contact Dusty at 816-935-5794 - he is helping out and taking care of the shipping.

Site(s) Update - USA, Outlaw, XMRO and more.....

I created a Mud Racing Central site for infomation on USA Mud Racing Magazine, Outlaw Mud Inc, XMRO: Xtreme Mud Racing Organization, XMRO Brookfield Cup and a lot more.

I had been consolidating a lot of media files at scotts4x4.com and so I decided to start doing the same with all the information in regards to the various sites as well.

So type in http://www.outlawmud.com or http://www.xmro.net or http://www.usamudracing.com and it will take you to the same site. Click on the appropriate links in the navigation bar and, over time, it will be easier to get the information you need.

For example, Outlaw Mud Rules are located in the Outlaw Mud section and XMRO Rules are located in the XMRO section.

It will take a little while to get the universal site up to speed, but I think it will make things easier if you are looking for more information on the various topics.

Also - It gives me a nice place to have a back up forum if this one ever goes down. If Scotts4x4.com or the message board is temporarily out of server for an extended period of time.....head on over to http://www.outlawmud.com

Scott's Photo and Video Archive

Got a new section in the "Media" forum. Scott's 4x4 Photo and Video Archive.

I have slowly been upgrading my storage media and deciding what to keep and what to delete.

What this means to the site is that I am running across different old mud racing files. Just some old stuff. But I figure there is no reason just keep storing all this stuff and not sharing it.

So every once in while I will add some new "old" stuff.

So keep an eye on that section. No telling what will be new to you.

Photo Gallery: Baker Pics

I needed to generate some still video shots, for a project, from some of the old NMRO tv edisodes Gary Baker allowed me to publish. They are just some randomly generated images for me to pull from. But I thought I would upload them so you could pick and choose any images from the old TV program you would like to check out. The full video episodes are posted at http://www.usamudracing.com

Stugis Update From Dusty: XMRO Extreme Class: Featuring Pro-Badd & MORE

yes gary baker and the badd boys will be in attendance and a few extras from the area and about 7 canadian cars- a real border war you could say. the whole show looks to be an awesome time for racing and making new friends. cant wait to see it go down. thanks to jimmy and sdmri for getting this show going. see you all up there. looking forward to meeting gear hog and the others from the sdmri organization.

Stugis/XMRO Extreme Class Update Soon: Keep Contacting Us if you want to run this Class!

Dusty will have an update on the XMRO Extreme Class soon. The Extreme Class that we are doing in conjunction with Jimmy and the SDMRI event. I just passed on a couple of Canadian racer queries to Dusty the other day.

Sturgis Info Update from SDMRI

From Gearhog at www.southdakotamudracers.com

Camping at the race site is provided. It will be on a one camper per racer basis. This is for space consideration. The number of people that are in the camper is open, but with respect for the space provided. Each person staying with the camper will need to pay the pit fees for each race day upon arrival. The camping area is adjacent to the race track and will have no hookups, so your own generator will be needed for elec.. Buffalo Chip does have services available to empty waste waters and to fill water systems. Showers are also available to racers on the main Buffalo Chip grounds. If you desire full hookups or multiple campers, then you should check on Buffalo's website for reservations on the main grounds. If any other questions, please ask. Thanks, Scott

Brookfield Cup June 6, 2009

Reminder that all the current information is now posted at http://www.flight71racing.com to help me keep it in one place - should have the points info posted this weekend, although I know there are not too many people in the points yet. Come on out and support this. I know Bailey and Dusty have incurred a lot of personal debt (and some great racers have donated a lot of resources and time) to make this happen. And the priority for the 2009 season is not to pay the bills but put it back into the racer payout. Gate money going to the racers.

This is a unique opportunity. I know everyone talks about making the sport bigger and better and getting more payout. But if it turns out to be a waste of resources....I don't think you are going to find promotors that would ever be willing to support such a thing again. They are going to learn from the mistakes of others. So let's not make this a mistake!

It is like the $10,000 payout races that pop up from time to time. When you can't generate enough revenue to cover the expenses, a lot of promotors are not really interested in trying it again.

No matter where you go, no matter where you race, no matter what the rules.....there is no tie for first place. There can be only one. It's a competition. So the time to stand up and support this is here! <img src="./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif"> Come on out and have some Side X Side fun!

From Mike:

Talked to the guy up there and the town is buzzing about the run and it is only 12-15 miles north of Hiawatha and there are alot of people talking about it here too... should have a great crowd to put on a show for.. He also has alot of equiptment to dig the pits and i am going to meet him there to mark em out and dig em so they should be smooth, wide and have some good walls.. i will update you on them when it gets closer and we get em dug... see you alll there...

Tips for writing a story for USA Mud Racing Magazine

Write up about the event, interview some drivers, throw in their stats, toss in some results. Does not have to be any longer than it needs to be. But tell everyone about it - the kinda of information you think people would want to read. When you put some thought into it, it will come naturally. Secure a few pics and send them that I can choose from. Make sure I know who took them so I can give them credit.

That is pretty much a run down of a template for anyone wanting to cover any event for the magazine. Yes it is some work, but it is also free advertisement and promotion!

USA Mud Racing Magazine Schedule Page

Just a note to all the promotors that submitted dates for the magazine last issues that made it in time to get published....but sure and check your dates in the magazine and submit any changes and updates ASAP for the next issue. I need to be able to rely on you all to keep me updates on any changes otherwise the same event dates will get published. Contact scott@scotts4x4.com

USA Mud Racing Magazine

I was talking to Gary Baker this week. He created the original National Mudder magazine during the period where Mud Racing shined in the National spotlight. Sounds like all the problems I have encountered are common place. Still looking for more advertisers for this magazine. I know everyone here wants to support this sport. In this case we need financial support to help this magazine grow bigger and better. I had to go with the newspaper paper style medium in order to forecast a budget that would support the first 4 issues. I would like to better the medium and increase the distribution in stores. Need more advertisers to help. Contact me today at scott@scotts4x4.com

I know this is a travel for a lot of the regulars who often like to attend our events. So everyone please keep spreading the word. Hopefully some of you will be able to make it out. I know there is a great group of Kansas and Oklahoma races that have ran with us at other events far from home and I hope you can all make it out.

If I remember the story right, Ness City had a motorsports event before - and it was a bad experience. But not mud racing related. I think it would be a great thing for this town to have as big of a show as we can give them.

Come on out and support this and have a good time!

Advertisers for USA Mud Racing Magazine

I need the help of people in this sport to stand up and support this publication. I think everyone who subscribed to the magazine and received there first issue sees the accomplishment and potential of this publication.

The sport should be big enough and strong enough to support the publication. But I am having to resort to purchasing ads in my own publication to support it. Lot's of people I have talked to over the last decade say they want to see the sport grow. Here is an opportunity. Take advantage of it!

Brookfield Cup Thank You's From Derek "Bailey" Morton

From Bailey:

I have had alot of help from family, friends, and fellow racers to get this track up and going and want to stop and take a moment to thanks all them. I want to start with my wife Mandy and my son Jacob and daughter Kaylee, they have helped by doing extra around home for the last several months while I have spent most of my free time at the track and further helped in getting the concession stand up and going. My parent Charles and Janet Brockman have helped in ways I cant begin to describe from lending me the use of thier new tractor and loader of which i broke - from helping me financially with the new track. My grandmother Mildred by helping me with a small note to get this started and always stopping by to see what were working on out there. My sister Brandee for running the gate and sister Beth and her husband Shane for the use of thier trailer and helping with the shopping lists for concessions. Larry and Sherry Ellison for the use of thier Tractor and disk to work the track and yes i broke it too . Matt and Jim Phife for the use of thier trailer and bleachers and loading them for me. Brian Ellison, Blake Ellison, Rusty Hudson, Jimmy Dorrell, Wyman Slater, Joel Head, Kenneth Head, Brian Slater, Joey Roberts (Show me deals), Waylen Linscott, Brandon White, Lynn Macatee Macatee home builders), Jason Sensenich, John Burton (Precision Auto), Rick Crumb, Tony Eppy, Mark Wilkerson (Wilkerson building and maintenance), Bob and Cory Luddington, Frank Stallo, Dewain Thurman, Brad (pro stude), Joe Coffman (CCM), Lowell, Rena, Luke, Justin, and Jered Perkins, Phil Minnick, John and Ian Diegelman, Chris Wiles, Kyle Gaunt, Melvin Hayes, Daniel Hayes, Terry Beets, Curtis Moore, Heath VanDusen, John Winkowski, Danny Koenig Sr., Danny Koenig Jr, Ronnie Chapman, Jimmy Erickson, Holly Burnett, Ray Burnett, Mike Bartelt, Scott Lemmon, Dusty, Granny, Pam, John, Mark, Asa Degreffenried just to name a few

Magazine Spread in USA Mud Racing Magazine

I was trying to think of some future magazine layouts. I want to include as much variety as I can in the issues. Supporting those in the midwest while encompassing the sport nationwide (And I have even started reaching out for some coverage of some Canadian and Mexico racing as well).

While I work on balance in the issues....I thought I could have some added features if any businesses and/or organizations would like to purchase a spread (2 pages, 3 pages, etc). That would allow me to promote those who really want to support the magazine. It would allow me to add extra pages of expanded content to the issues while reserving the set amount to the balance of making sure I sustain variety across the country.

Just trying to find new ways to support those that support the magazine! I can have more space to write about any story as a special feature while using the established pages for national variety.

Brookfield Cup: Stand up and be counted Side X Side Fans!

Time to stand up and be counted Side X Side racers and fans! A lot of time, money, and effort is being put into a permanent facility. For years I have heard people talking that this is what was needed. And the result is we might have some competition show up at a race. But everyone will be playing by the same rules. And it is good news that people are wanting to come and race. That is why we are having a race! Come on out and race and support some good times!

Brookfield Points Money can be paid at the day of the race too!

From Bailey:

Anyone interested in getting in the points series can still do so, and i want to thank the people that have already done so. I really appreiciate people pre-entering the series because it gives me a jump-start on all the paperwork involved to keep track of everyones points. I'm sure there is alot of people that will wait till the day of the first race to enter and thats fine but it will take me a while to get it all put in the computer so be patient if it takes me a while to get the first race points anounced. There will be no added charge for late points entries, it is still $50 however if you have not mailed it by the end of the week just keep ahold of it and bring it to the first race as i dont want it lost in the mail or something.

Brookfield Cup: First Event April 4th, 2009 Starts At Noon

The first event will be an early start due to the weather this time of year(it gets cold at night still) so plan on getting up early to be there. will try to post the running order here soon so everyone knows. we will see how it goes this first race and switch it up as needed. also remember- after march 15th the fee to join the points jumps to $75. so get on the stick and mail in the fees and we will send you your numbers and xmro decals. whos ready to race!!!!!!!

I dont want people to leave here with a bad impression of the place just because they had to be pulled in and out. I have alot of time and money invested and want people to think it was worth the drive when they leave here and i'm affraid if its a muddy mess it would just take all the fun out it pulling people in and out with tractors. As of right now the ground is solid and i think we can have a good race i just need a few sunny and windy drying days to get the track dry enough to till other than that we are nearly done, puuting roof on the tower today and doing some testing with the new lights for the next couple days and trying to get used to them so we know how to trouble shoot if some kind of gremlin pops up, just hope they work as good as they did at hamilton!!

When Worlds Collide!

Just a heads up.....with all the Bog Racing and the Side X Side Racing we are planning this year.....it is only a matter of time before we have a schedule conflict with Outlaw Mud and XMRO. You would think that would be a problem.....except we have so many great friends helping us out and the demand for mud is so great....don't be surprised if we end up scheduling a Bog in one area and a Side X Side event in a second area on the same day! I guess I just want to give a heads up that I can link back too....because it is only a matter of time before someone stops and asks....."hey, aren't those on the same days?"

What a wonderful problem to have! <img src="http://scotts4x4.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif">

Outlaw Mud in Buckner, Missouri August 1, 2009

From Dusty:

looks like outlaw mud will be invading the bogging town of buckner,mo aug 1st. going to go meet with them thursday this week and look at the land bare- have a few ideas that might make it run a little smoother as for space and work the pit over a little, should have more info on that this weekend coming up.

this looks to be the only race where we conflict with ourselves- the xmro will be in brookfield and i beleive alot of the probadd cars will be blowing into brookfield that weekend for the cup races and then on to sturgis.

Today's Updates!

Thanks to all those braving some bad weather today in Oklahoma at D-Day! I had to stay in the office today so I could put the final touches on the first issue of the USA Mud Racing Magazine over the weekend. This first issue had a lot of roadblocks and modifications we had to overcome as we get use to the world of publishing. But the good news is that the process will be easier to maintain for future issues as we have gained quite a bit of experience.

As a matter of fact I am already busy working on the layout for issue 2, 3, and 4!

New Messageboard Style Option Available

I have a new template option available. (The background and style of the message board). I don't currently have it set to the default, which means you will have to select it as your personal option when you "log on" to the board. This is kind of a test drive period while I decide if I want to make it the new default board style.

To check it out - go into your "user control panel" and select the "Board Preferences Tab" and then "Edit Global Settings." Look on that page for the "My Board Style" and click the drop down box and select "Dirty Board."

For now you can switch back and forth as you choose. But if you are not logged in, it will display the default black background.

Take it for a test drive and see if you like it.

Here is a still shot of the style - it includes the last page of the instruction above. Where you can see where the "Edit Global Settings" sets in your control panel and you can select your board style.

www.scotts4x4.com/forum

Chat Feature up and running on the Message Board

Chat is up and running on the message board. Look at the links on the top of the page. You should be able to log on with your same username and password.

Log on and you can have a real time chat with someone on the board..... if they log on as well.

I had been looking at a lot of different chat systems and Jamie aka Lethal Injection found what I think is one of the best (for what it is) out on the net. And thanks for Jamie for taking care of the install!

Here is the direct link to the chat:

State of Mud: Event Listings on the Message Board

Check out the events section for the State of Mud. It is a second listing of events based on state boundries. I invite everyone hosting an event to fill up those designated threads. I am going to bet that the Missouri section will be the largest....but hope everyone excepts that as a challenge and posts in the other sections.

It won't fill up overnight......but I think we are going to start hearing from more and more people!

Big Opportunities: Info previously posted on the Scotts4x4 Message Board

WYANDOTTE, OKLAHOMA AND BROOKFIELD, MISSOURI!

D-DAY MARCH 28, 2009

Come on down this weekend to Oklahoma! D-Day at Wyandotte, Oklahoma. O'Reillys officials are planning to be present and there might be another race with some O'Reillys involvement this season. I have experienced these opportunities before, this race is an opportunity to show them that we can be a crowd pleaser......if everyone stays home.....we can't continue to scratch our heads and wonder why the sport never gets big sponsors.  So come on out and join us - it will the 5th season we have been apart of Dewayne's incredible D-Day 4x4 park! Always a great time!

THE BROOKFIELD CUP....STARTING APRIL 4, 2009

This Brookfield thread is closing in on 7000 hits.....so I know you know, that I know, that you know.... .......that this is going to be a great place to race.

A lot of funds are invested in building a track in from scratch and Mr. Morton's priority is to take the money and give it back to the racers.

Win or loose against the guy in the next lane.....it should be a great time and a great opportunity.

And we are going to fill the internet full of Brookfield pictures and video in 2009 so I will catch you there!

Scotts4x4 Schedule Page Update! Submit your info!

The page has been updated with events submitted by the organizations or someone involved with them:

To be listed, please contact me at scott@scotts4x4.com with your info. I don't want to just copy and paste information without people knowing it.....if someone contacts me, it helps to remind them to keep me updated on changes throughout the season.

News from MTTV: Tune in on Chat Night!

From Brian Austin at Mud Truck TV - www.mudtrucktv.com

We
appreciate the support of everyone helping to build the sport in a positive way. We would like to thank Darryl & Deborah Jones from LCMMC. - Darryl took the time and money to travel with us to Denver to meet with the good folks representing the Dish Network. Thanks Darryl !

We stopped by and spoke with Jason & Charlie Strickland at the Badlands on our way to CO. and asked thier opinion about the potential of this move to National TV as well. We also spoke to Gary Baker to gain insight on the "TV World" - as he has "Been There Done That". Our thanks to all of them as well!

This is somewhat of a big decision for MTTV to make as we will be essentially making a big jump to the National Stage with the show and there are alot of things to consider. We are in a position to give the sport of mud racing and ALL those involved that SAME National Stage. This has been what we have wanted to do since "Day One" of MTTV. In order for this to be a successful move, we are going to need a few things to come together and we are still in talks with the folks at ICTV to get it done. Many of you share our excitement about this move.

We would like to address you all at one time on next weeks Live Video Chat. Wed. April 1st - 8pm/9pm eastern. Please tell everyone you know and invite them to join us and we will explain the details - Time Slots available - along with other things that we want your input on. Again, thank you to those mentioned above and EVERYONE out there that is serious about the sport and Supports The Sport! See ya next WED.

Pending Event Annoucements: 71 Bog Series

While Dusty was inbetween venues yesterday (driving to Brookfield to deliver the lights and heading to Oklahoma to for D-Day prep) he gave me a call. Said it looks like we will have another town for the 71 Bog Series. Announcing soon. We already have Butler, Missouri on the list and just need to pick a date. This would be the second officially approved. And I know Dusty is still working on some others.

Don't want the Southern Missouri Bog fans to forget about this as we are going to be announcing the towns as we roll into the season. Not too late to give Dusty a call if you know of a good place.

If you contacted him and he has not gotten back to you, let me know. He has been extra busy between family stuff and current racing stuff.

Just wanted to let everyone know the brush is cleared and the dirt work is done and with weather cooperating maybe we can have a work day in the next week or two for anyone that is willing to pich in a helping hand and like Dusty said anyone who helps will get a reserved parking spot for the 09 season! Still alot of work to do such as setting posts and attaching guardrail, trenching in water line, setting poles and wiring lights, brush hogging, fence building and l'm sure plenty of other things. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow.

Kansas Badlands MRA Event Date

Kansas Badlands is proud to announce that it has been selected to host one of the 5 races in the MRA National Championship Points Series.
The MRA is the nationally recognized sanctioning body determing the champion for the following three classes for 2009

1. Open Paddle Tires (entry fee $100)
-----1st=$1000 2nd=$750 3rd=$350 4th=$200 5th=$100

2. Modified Cut Tires (entry fee $75)
-----1st= $750 2nd=$550 3rd=$300 4th=$200 5th=$100

-----1st=$500 2nd=$350 3rd=$250 4th=$125 5th=$75

these are the guaranteed base payouts, we will also do 100% payback on entry fees so the actual purse will be larger than the above posted amounts!!!!

We may add the MRA OUTLAW PRO STOCK as well depending upon the interest shown in the class!

We will also be doing either a single lane bog pit or hill and hole style pit sanctioned by CMBA at this event. We will have the best of both worlds!!!

Mud Truck TV will be live on location at the KBL to film this National Level Racing Event!!!!

We want to thank the CMBA, MAMR, and MRA for all of their support!!!!

Update From Jason:

No matter how I shake it up and divide out the prize money it seems that this race will be at least a $10,100 ADDED MONEY race... the total purse of course depends on the number of entries....in the fast track each place 1-5 will pay back 20% of the entry fee + the guaranteed added money payout for each place. The Bog pit will pay back our added money and entry fee payback 50-30-20 to the top 3 places. I hope that we have a good turnout of midwestern and southern trucks to compete for this money.

USA Mud Racing Magazine Cover: March 2009 Issue

Check out the front page of www.usamudracing.com  and check out what the front page of the first issue may look like!

From Dusty:

thanks to mike bartelt for lending us some of his photos for our magazine. mike just told us he bought a even better lens- he says if you liked the old pics - you will love the new ones. cant wait to see mikes pics in 2009- and im sure you will see his handiwork on the pages of the new mud racing magazine. i just wanted to thank scott and mike both for making this dream a reality. scott makes alot of stuff happen for our sport with his web wizardry. and with photo mike on hand- you know 2009 is gonna be another good one. scott thanks for your hard work on the magazine. even with our small staff(me and you and whoever we can get to contribute) and limited budget(mine and yours) i know we can get this done and make it a great asset for the sports fans and racers and sponsors. guess i need to get off here and continue writing my stories for the mag- plus i got a few legends to call. some you havent heard from in awhile and thus the official mud racing hall of fame online site will finally go live too.

D-DAY March 28, 2009

Got the official word and there will be bogging and dragging and side x side racing at the Spring D-Day event in 2009. Dusty will be returning for the 5th straight year and kicking off the official mud racing season on March 28, 2009 in Wyandot, Oklahoma. Contact him for event details....they don't always list all the styles and classes on Dewayne site. But after five years we all know it all works out as we storm the beaches of Oklahoma!  src="http://scotts4x4.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif">

This years mud racing event is part of O'reilly's Rock Stomp Compeition. This is at the D-Day Off-Road Theme park where there well be a lot of Off-Road fun going on. Some may call it Off-Road Heaven!

Dusty 816-935-5794

From Dusty:

yes come down to the circus on dirt at the dday facility. lots going on and the action is nonstop- i will be going down in a few weeks to get the tracks lined out a little better. dday is a great kickoff to the year, or a test tune to try the new setups. its not always the most organized race of the year but it is still a good time. lots of cool 4x4's and enthusiasts in the crowd and plus you never know when a tv crew will fall from the sky and start filming. i never do. so once again come on down- ask those who have been- there are trails and a restaurant on site, flush toilets shower houses, rv hookups, camping and the nightlife is always lively!!

Scheduling: Outlaw/XMRO Events

Don't let the schedule make you think we are too busy. We have plenty more spots for racing. And like I have said....Dusty still has a lineup of 71 Highway Bog Series events to schedule. Contact us today about an event. There are seriously a lot more places that are asking about us and I don't want the schedule to make people think we are too busy! Lots of good times being planned!

More events in the works.....

From Dusty:

going to be adding columbia mo during the fair on 7-24 (sxs) and holton,ks in july also, and need to follow up on ness city,ks and richmond,mo those three most likley bogs. and working one special two day event near springfield,mo during the jamboree- bog and fast track- outlaw mud style!! all classes both nights. more info coming soon.

71 Bog Series Update

From Dusty:

have not forgotten the 71 bog series- still getting the final series set up- might have to stray a little from 71 like say grain valley, buckner, but so far butler, adrian, peculiar are looking like a go- tryint to get the harrisonville and archie locations worked out. need to find time to meet a few people and sell them on it.
